We went shopping in Tecos today to get some random stuff. We don't usually shop there, we were just passing and decided to pop in for some stuff that we can't usually find in other shops. We normally get our fruit and veg from a local shop where we live. It seems better quality, and lasts a bit longer than supermarket stuff for some reason.
I had ran out of beer so I picked up a couple of bottles of Tangle Foot and Waggle Dance to drink later tonight.
Picture the scene if you will. We are a couple pushing around a kid in a trolley buying mainly food, with a couple of bottles of ale in there as well. As we start putting the first items onto the conveyor belt the girl behind the checkout (who was no older than 16 herself) asks us for our ID. Bearing in mind that Mandy is 26 and I am pushing 28 the first thing I can say is "thank you!". I showed her my driver license and we went on our way.
Mandy was a bit more stunned and she just stood there with her mouth open. I get asked for ID all of the time, but Mandy has never been asked once. Is 27 a record for being asked for ID? I think I will break it soon as I seem to get asked every couple of years or so. I really don't think that I look 18 though!
