Bloody Halloween

Posted by author in the category "Personal"

I really hate Halloween. It was originally the Norse (and therefore Pagan) new years eve, but christians being christians decided to force yet another Pagan festival into a christian one, so they made November the 30th St Hallow's day. In turn the night before became known as St Hallow's Eve and this turned into Halloween.

So why do I hate it? It seems to give people (mostly kids) an excuse to run about and cause terror for those people who are just trying to get on with their lives. Every Halloween I spend the night sat in a dark house, afraid even to turn on a light in case some goit decides that I might be willing to give some food away, and tonight is no exception. In some places throughout the UK (like back in Aberystwyth for example) these kids seem to find it fun to buy lots of flour and eggs, which they then throw at each other and any innocents that happen to get in the way. I for one would like to see the entire thing banned.

On a lighter note things are going well at work. I have finished my first project, and I think I impressed my boss with my understanding and ability to create things in CSS. I have signed a confidentiality agreement at work so I'm not sure how much information I can divulge. Obiously I can't give much away about the SEO practises that go on in the company, but can I tell you what sites I've worked on? I'm not certain I can, and I keep forgetting to ask. It's a bit more secret than working for Ceredigion Social Services, where the only thing I was to keep secret was client information.
